This cd of CUBA’s CONGO traditions was recorded in SANTIAGO de CUBA with some of eastern Cuba’s most respected percussionists and singers coming together as GRUPO BARRACÓN to contribute to this project.

The 'CANTOS AFROCUBANOS: SHANGÓ' songbook and 3-cd set, is now available for purchase! This is the fifth of a series of instructional cd/songbook sets (ELEGGUA-Vol.1; OGGÚN-Vol.2; OBATALÁ-Vol.3; OCHÚN-Vol.4) of the sacred songs of CUBA's Yoruba tradition by esteemed percussionist/singer/composer LUCA BRANDOLI. This labor of love is a result of years of intensive research BRANDOLI has conducted in various communities throughout CUBA who maintain these traditions. The recordings include the talents of several of Santiago de Cuba's most highly respected singers and percussionists. All four volumes are available for purchase on www.cdbaby.com

CUBA’s dynamic RUMBEROS de CUBA in their performance at ”HABANA DE MI CORAZÓN. DEL TAMBOR A LA CONGA” in Havana’s GRAN

TEATRO. Under the direction of RODOLFO CHACÓN TARTABULL the show includes a performance from sacred (Abakuá, Yoruba, Congo) to popular traditions including Rumba and Conga carnival dances. Former Conjunto Folklórico Nacional de Cuba musicians and dancers are among the artists that make up the RUMBEROS de CUBA, and the amazing singer/musician “Cusito”. Though the theater setting limits at times the camera angles, it is a good opportunity to see the complete show of this award winning folkloric ensemble.
